In-depth investigations conducted by the National Gendarmerie forces of Bejaia, east of Algeria, led to the discovery of large quantities arms and ammunition in the village of Beni Abbas, in the municipality of Ighil Ali, following the inspection of a house, where they found 167 cartridges of the size 12 and 17 mm and 366 bullets, as well as a number of knives and swards and pistols.

• Investigations are still underway to determine the source and destination of such quantities of weapons that are supposed to be a source of funding for the terrorist groups  still active in the eastern regions of the country.
• In the same context, the gendarmerie units of Bordj Bouariridj, east of Algiers, arrested a Maruti type car on national highway 106, as it was carrying hunting rifles and 30 cartridges, as well as a significant number of bullets and  other military equipment.
