General Director of Air Algerie to meet social partner
Air Algerie fixed the next June 31st as deadline for the company’s workers to enable them receiving the new wages.

Wahid Bou Abdellah, General Director of Algeria’s national airline Air Algerie is convening to end the negotiation’s series with the social partner to determine the increased rates in the company’s staff wages. This constitutes a prerequisite with the Algerian workers’ wages review and a step to stop the pilots’ crisis.

  • In the same context, Hadj Bali, Secretary General of Air Algerie’s union belonging to the Algerian workers’ union said in a statement to Echorouk that the agreement concerns all the workers including technicians to raise the increase percentage to 15 percent of the wage value base.
  • Bali stated that the union has proposed to increase the pilots and aircraft hosts wages of 50 percent. The social partner asked to make an increase of 17 million centimes for pilots. The current salary earned by pilots is between 18 and 20 million centimes for those who have professional expertise of 10 years. Thu,s their salary will reach nearly 40 million centimes.
  • The union also submitted its second proposal- outside all employees’ increases- for aircraft hosts to lift wages 50 percent, equivalent to 2.5 to 3 million centimes. So, the whole salary will be estimated at about 6 million centimes.
  • Negotiations about the workers’ company wages begun in the previous mid-march with the current general director following his appointment on the head of Air Algerie on the basis of a presidential ordinance.
  •  Previously, Mr. Daudi Secretary General of the dependant maintenance technicians’ union at Air Algerie told Echorouk that they wrote to the acting general director in order to make their wages not less than one/third of the increases which will be added to the pilots’ salaries, an increase of nearly 6 million centimes.
  • He considered that increases of about 8 thousands dinars for the maintenance technicians’ wages announced by Alhadj Bali “do not meet their expectations for the forthcoming increases.”
  •  The Algerian airlines company fixed the next June 31st as deadline for the company’s workers to enable them receiving the new wages.
