German construction projects in Algeria
Germany is planning to achieve two projects in construction field in Algeria after making a deal with public authorities, German-Algerian chamber of commerce and industry chief said Monday.

“The first project worth 40 million euros is a factory of manufacturing construction materials which would be the first of its kind of Africa,” Andreas Hergenröther said in a news conference in Algiers.

The second project is the manufacturing of construction raw materials and by-products, he added.

He also said six projects will be announced by the end of February as part of Algerian-German partnership in construction sector.

“Germany is interested in an international call for tender offered by Algerian transport ministry to develop railways sector worth $30 million.”

Trade exchange between Algeria and Germany was estimated at $2.5 billion in 2007.

Germany is the world’s third largest country in terms of exports valued at 969 billion euros in 2007.
