Ghulamullah to Echorouk: “France asked us not to send Algerian Imams”

Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Abou abdellah Ghoulamallah, included Salafi and Qadiani and other ideas coming from abroad in the list of ideas that represent a threat to Algeria.

During Echorouk Forum the minister revealed that the French Interior Minister Manuel Valls asked, during the visit, which led him recently to Algeria, for the appointment of French imams in the French mosques, instead of appointing Algerian imams.

The guest of Echorouk said he gave assurances to the French minister about the French imams, who were appointed to cover the mosques that are scattered in his country, after Manuel Valls complained from the imams coming from outside France. Valls acknowledged that extremists in France are French of the new converts to Islam”.

The minister pointed out that the French concerns are offset by providing assurances regarding the class of imams that are chosen by ministerial services to cover the houses of Allah in France; “We call upon the Imam who is always appointed in France to be a French citizen, away from the exercise of his religion and his job as an imam, and the citizen has to keep his homeland”.

The spokesman asserted that he had received many congratulations from local French officials, regarding the level of performance of the Algerian Imam.
