Greater task assigned to Algerian policewomen
Taking the floor before journalists in a conference call the head of the Algerian national security services, Colonel Ali Tounsi announced the creation of special intervention unit of policewomen.

This first experience ever in the records of the Algerian police will consist in the creation of squad comprising 80 policewomen, who followed a special training on the different techniques in a domain which was for a long time, reserved for men.

M Tounsi noted that for now on, policewomen will be gradually integrated in sensitive sectors as part of a new brand strategy saying “ policewomen have proved their know- how and capabilities the same as policemen, which enabled them to reach the highest positions within the corporation”

He rather focused on the drastic measures implemented to secure the Algerian capital, avoiding to talk in detail about the volatile situation in the region of “Kabylie” undermined by a series of kidnappings of well off people to be released thanks to the payment of huge ransoms in return from their relatives.

M Tounsi highlighted the role of citizens in fighting against all types of criminality hailing their precious contribution in many occasions especially in the denunciation of various networks specialized in drug trafficking and organized crimes including terrorism.
