GSPC claims responsibility for suicide attack and says leader is killed
The so-called the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) said senior member Abdelmoumene Rachid alias Abou younes Al Assimi.

“The suicide attack which was carried out in the province of Boumerdes (50 km east of Algiers) was a revenge of the leader of the centre area in the Kabylian region Abu Younes Houdeifa,” said the GSPC in a statement.

“The suicide attack was carried out by a member of the GSPC against a military caravan in the area of Zaatria in Boumerdes 70 km east of Algiers. Suicide bomber Mohamed went near an army vehicle and blew up his car.”
