GSPC turns into mercenary group spurred on by money
Money and terrorism
Algerian security services have opened in-depth investigations into the origin of the lavish property recently acquired by many families of newly-recruited terrorists affiliated to the Salafist group for preaching and combat –GSPC-.
-
Most of these “newly-rich families”, now under police scrutiny, are settled in the provinces of Tizi Ouzou and Boumerdes, east of Algiers.
-
A source close to the ongoing investigation told “Echorouk El Yaoumi” that the GSPC chieftains had been using money, wrenched in ransoms and racketeering, to lure young recruits into joining the terrorist ranks.
-
Some of the young recruits’ families are believed to have benefited from this “dirty” financial bonanza covertly provided by the GSPC command.
-
The recruiting terrorist agents hoodwinked these misled youngsters into joining the GSPC terrorist groups by taking advantage of their precarious socio-economic situation.
-
According to repentant terrorists, money has become a source of a bitter wrangle within the terrorist groups.
