Half Million war veterans ask for recognition in 2013

A conflict within the National Organisation of Mudjahidine (war veterans) started since days, due to the issue of recognition of affiliation and membership in the ranks of the National Liberation Army.

Secretary-General of the organisation, Said Abadou, launched the decision to freeze the work of the social and economic committee of the organisation after the majority of its members refused the return of the recognition issue.

Ms F.B, who is member of the national council of the Moudjahidine organisation for the second wilaya exposed a sensitive and dangerous scandal, which is thousands of people who are still seeking to be war veterans or martyrs after 50 years of independence.

She said that the secretary general of the organisation is the only responsible  of this issue, despite that the president freezes the work of the committee of recognition at the level of the ministry of Moudjahidine.

The spokeswoman told Echorouk that the thousands who are still asking to get recognition remain frozen at the central and local levels, and exactly over half million, as 800.000 files are waiting for positive or negative decisions, and by the time the matter becomes unbearable and creates a bad situation for war veterans and those who have the rights.

“18 members in the committee, including sons of martyrs, opposed the instructions of the secretary general, Said Abadou, in the case of the return of the issue of recognition of the character of Moudjahid or Martyr”.

Echorouk obtained a copy of the “preliminary draft”, that was prepared by the subcommittee of the social and economic affairs, to prepare the eleventh forum of the organisation, which explains that the majority of those who sacrificed from the category of Moudjahidine and martyrs, are still suffering today with their families.
