Khalil Al-Haya, member of Hamas’ political office and the Palestinian delegation’s negotiator at the talks seeking to stop fighting in Gaza Tursday said Israel played on words. « Because of that an accord for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was postponed. »

« We were about to sign a ceasfire accord yesterday if the enenmy did not play on words. Because of that, we accepted to stop fighting to give a chance to consultations and open the door to put pressure on the enenmy. Our aim was to reach a ceasfire and end an Israeli war on Gaza launched on the seventh day of the last month, » said A-Haya at Shifa hospital in Gaza.

« Talks round was hard and difficult. The Israeli enenmy is good in postponing things, » he added.

He also said the Palestinian delegation persented four demands. The first one is to stop the Israeli attack on Gaza.

« The second demand is to end the 8-year-Israeli embargo on gaza for ever and not only through words. The third one is to end the Israeli occupation in our people’s water, land and sea. Fourthly, we claimed our right in building an airport and a port, » he added.

Speaking about the Rafah crossing point, Hamas’ representative said it is a Palestinian-Egyptian issue and the occupier has nothing to do with it. « We understood from Minister Mohamed Touhami [Egyptian intelligence director] that Egypt will make things easy in the crossing point. That would concretize our people’s least aspirations. »
