Hannachi: “We plan twinning agreement with Egypt's Al Ahly to seal mutual brotherhood”
The top Manager of the Algerian first-division club of JS Kabylie, Mohand Cherif Hannachi, has said in an interview with “Echorouk” that he is confident that the JS Kabylie delegation will be extended a warm welcome on the part of the Egyptian club of Al Ahly during the second-leg match in Cairo between the 2 sides as part of the group phase of the African champion's league competition.
-
Echorouk : Can you tell us about the preparations by the JS Kabylie management for the second-leg match in Cairo versus Egypt’s Al Ahly with just 24 hours to go before your trip there…?
-
-
Hannachi : Frankly speaking, we have not prepared anything because we know for sure that the Al Ahly side will grant our delegation a hearty welcome in Cairo as a response to the grand welcome the Egyptian delegation received by all and sundry here in Algeria and particularly in the province of Tizi Ouzou.

I am confident that everything will go on smoothly as part of the reinforcement of the brotherhood ties between the 2 clubs and between the peoples of the 2 countries in order to dispel for good the rancour and the transient animosity of the recent past.
-
-
Echorouk : Your biting statement at the end of the first-leg JS Kabylie – Al Ahly match in Tizi Ouzou about the improper behaviour of certain Egyptian players notably during the so-called “bus affair” angered the manager of the Al Ahly club Hassan Hamdi. What is your comment?
-
-
Hannachi : Well, what is said is said and I am still sticking to my statement which stemmed from what we noticed before and during this hot fixture.
-
-
In fact, it’s just a storm in a tea cup and this verbal statement should in no way mar the excellent relationship now unfolding between our two teams and this salutary opportunity should serve as a springboard for deepening and reinforcing the ties of brotherhood and friendship between Algeria and Egypt which share many common values.
-
-
Echorouk : You said previously that you plan a twinning agreement between the 2 clubs, can you elaborate on that …
-
-
Hannachi : As the relations between the 2 sides are steadily improving, I will float the idea of initialing a twinning accord between JS Kabylie and Egypt’s Al Ahly with a view to consolidating this precious friendship and burying for good the seeds of wrangling and animosity which don’t serve at all the interests of the two brotherly countries.
-
-
Echorouk : Informed sources close to your outfit say that you are intent on securing the transfer to JS Kabylie of the Al Ahly Algerian striker Amir Saâoud for the next football season … Is this true?
-
-
Hannachi : Yes, it’s true, I am really keen to ask shortly from the Al Ahly managers the transfer of this talented Algerian striker to join the JS Kabylie line-up next season. But this depends of course on the prior consent of the Al Ahly managers. Anyway, life will tell!
