“This issue has a more serious dimension as Scotland Yard attempted to interfere in Algeria’s domestic affairs. They tried to make Ali Fodil work for them,” she said in a public assembly in Oran (west of Algeria).

Fodil was interrogated last Sunday by Scotland Yard while in a visit to London from France. The questioning lasted 4 hours and was conducted under Terrorism Act.

The Examining Officers asked Fodil about his newspaper Echorouk, the largest in Algeria, about the sources of information he publishes and questions related to his political opinions regarding local and international issues.

Fodil was also subject to body search as well as search of luggage during the questioning.
