A new pedagogical program aimed at fostering the relationship between doctors and patients is set to be applied soon, the Head of the training department at the health and hospitals reform ministry has indicated.

In a declaration to Echourouk, he has acknowledged that some practitioners have deliberately kept mum on various medical errors, noting that shedding light on them will help improve the health sector.

The professor Zoughilache Djamel went on saying “ We have noticed the absence humane ways of dealing with patients and a lot of medical errors this is why we are working for the rehabilitation of the profession in order to make it more humane, not to give future doctors an opportunity to garner money”.

“ We are looking forward to reducing medical errors and create harmony within the medical staff because students should learn to deal with more humane ways and respect deontology as well the basic hygienic procedures” , he added.

The professor has asserted that the medical forums organized by foreign and national laboratories should be approved by the health ministry and the council of deontology, noting that foreign laboratories should abide by the specifications drawn by the Algerian authorities and limit their roles to informing the professionals of the sector about the medical findings and drugs.

He also admitted that a lot of irregularities exist in the relation between the relevant ministry and these laboratories.

The professor Zoughilache has indicated that the ministry intends to recruit 7982 paramedical dispatched on 27 institutes across the country including 3 institutes dedicated for midwives in Annaba, Tizi Ouzou and Tlemcen.

He went on saying that the sector needs some 4000 midwives to offset the deficit in this speciality.
