Health: 16,000 nurses to be upgraded, 24,000 contractual employees to be demarcated
Health Ministry agreed in principle with the number of decisions that have been discussed, most notably the integration and upgrading, that should be studied first, while Health Ministry has given its final approval to repay all financial sums to all users of the public health retroactively.
Among the principle decisions that the Ministry agreed upon, the decision to upgrade 16,000 qualified nurses to nurses who hold state graduation, as their wages will increase largely.
Health Ministry formally approved the demarcation of 24,500 contracting employees in the health sector, as a second payment, after the decision of the demarcation of 19,000 former employees.
Health Ministry decided to respond to syndicates’ demands, after meeting with representatives of the National Syndicate of Independent Users of Public Administration, as it was agreed to pay all the wages retroactively to all users of public health, including grants and allowances, and it comes to the late grants for each department of the health sector, led by nurses whose grants and financial compensations were not retroactively paid, starting from January 2008, and it comes to 350000 employees, who are mostly nurses. Besides that the payment of the overdue salaries will be to all the departments.
Health Minister gave immediate instructions for the final integration of temporary workers and contractors, and it comes to about 24,500 employees, a second resolution after last year’s resolution, for the demarcation of 19,000 employees in the health sector.
Health Minister promised, during the discussion, which gathered representatives of each of the National Syndicate of Independent Users of Public Health, and the National Federation to remedy the mistakes of some health managers in a number of states, as he recommended lifting the pressure on the workers and unionized employees, and respecting the law.
