Heavy vital drugs scarcity put life of patients in danger
Minister of Health urged to save the life of patients
National private pharmacies union and the chronic diseases network have rung the alarm bells, following the run out of vital medicines in reserve stocks.
- Several hospitals record a short supply of hard surgeries drugs, and patients in emergencies and comas have to go without.
- Ministry of Health has not done anything yet to patch up this critical situation, despite being notified of this drug shortage crisis.
- Head of the pharmacies union, Faycel Abed said the shortage touched several vital drugs, including anesthesia, vaccines destined to 5 month pregnant and 2 month babies, in addition to cancer and HIV patients.
- However, Head of chronic diseases association, Abdelhamid Boualeg, told Echourouk that the life of many patients is in danger, adding that the current drugs scarcity is due to the failure of the policy of the Ministry of Health relating to the distribution of drugs.
