Housing minister: Series of new procedures to reduce the costs

The Housing minister Noureddine Moussa has revealed that the local authorities will start banning construction on risky areas in order to reduce the rate of property damage caused by natural disasters, adding that the next supplementary financial law will revamp the building sector and thus reduce the real estates’ prices.

• Talking yesterday on the sidelines of the sate of affairs on the floods that hit the province of Ghardaia last year, Noureddine Moussa has revealed that his ministry is about draw a map of the potentially flood-risky areas, and vows to give out punishment against illicit constructions on threatened regions.

• The minister has staunchly blamed those who attempted to take advantage of the situation to add their names on the list of beneficiaries of chalets destined for the disaster- stricken families.

• Nouredine Moussa went on saying that the authorities have allocated some 23 billion Algerian Dinars to stand for the housing sector in the province of Ghardaia.

• While supervising several housing construction sites and chairing a ceremony for the distribution of 242 housing units for the disaster-stricken families, the minister declared that his main challenge for the time being is to assure the quality of the buildings.
