Housing Ministry to launch new AADL housing projects

Governors of the Republic entered in the recent days in a race against time in order to settle the problem of the property, and seek to settle the real estates and compensate the owners as soon as possible in order to start all programs before the end of the year, especially since the Housing Ministry launch the process of creating a state of alert, after it resulted in 400.000 new registered to be added to the 60.000 subscribers for the years 2001 and 2002, raising the number of houses that are included in the program to 230.000.

If the Housing Ministry is working in a comfortable position in terms of providing real estate that are allocated for the construction of houses, following the recovery of a significant number of farming spaces recently and converting them from agricultural to urban, but they may collide with some obstacles relating to the settlement of land in administrative terms, especially since many of the issues were raised on justice for the purpose of retrieving real estate vessels that were granted for peasant groups before deciding their retrieval.

Specialists in reconstruction think that problem which would prevent the authorities from realizing the projects is the problem of compensation that takes a long time to be achieved under the refusal of owners to evacuate them before compensation, as well as the problem of building materials that notice a rise, as architects assert that it is necessary to provide 5.1 million tons of cement to complete those houses under what is known as the national production deficit, especially since the Algiers Great Mosque project consumed the largest quantity of cement.

Housing Minister Abdelmadjid Tebboune counts too much on the outcome of the meetings which are expected to be held with the Ministers of Finance and Agriculture to discuss ways to resolve the status of Real Estate and to compensate owners, as the Minister of Housing admitted in the meeting of the evaluation with officials of the sector that the biggest obstacle which is facing him is the problem of land settlement which prevented the start of 40.000 housing units.
