Ibrahim Hassan’s act is insane, says Raouraoua

President of the North African Football Union Saturday condemned a violent behaviour shown by Ibrahim Hassen, assistant manager of the Nadi El Masri of Egypt during a match in Algeria.

  •
  • “No one could expect such behaviour. It was an insane act,” Mohamed Raouraoua told Echorouk on phone.
  •
  • Ibrahim Hassen’s act “can not be linked to any other person. It represents himself only,” he said.
  •
  • Raouraoua said the incident has nothing to do with the case of Algerian striker lakhdar belloumi who was accused of an alleged attack on an Egyptian official after a match in 1989.
  •
  • “Ties between Algerian and Egyptian football officials remain close and will not be affected,” he said.
  •
  •  Bejaia vs Nadi El Masri match took place Friday in the Maghrebian Unity Stadium of Bejaia. The Algerian team scored two goals while the Egyptians failed to score and disqualified for the next round of the North African cup.
  •
  • At the final whistle, Ibrahim Hassen smashed the referee’s table, broke TV cameras and jostled the FIFA officials to express his anger after his team’s loss.
