Independent Syndicalism: 5 Moroccans, 3 Tunisians and 3 Mauritanians arrested in Algiers
Independent National Syndicate of the users of the public administration, announced that security services arrested 11 activists, including five Moroccans, 3 Tunisians and 3 Mauritanians, who were willing to participate in a Maghreb forum, held in the house of syndicates in Bab Zouar, Algiers, on Wednesday, and which was organized by the National Syndicate of independent users of the public administration, to create a Maghreb Union in the fight against unemployment and precarious work.
According to a “SNAPAP” statement; ” Police raided the hotel where the Maghrebn guests were hosted, and arrested 11 of them, they are probably transferred to the police station of Bab Zouar, and before that security services besieged the house of syndicates, and arrested a number of Algerian activists, who were attending the meeting.
SNAPAP denounced the way the authorities dealt with this meeting, and indicated that the Algerian authorities was less democratic than its neighbors in the Maghreb, as holding such meetings with the participation of all civil and military authorities in those countries is a normal activity”.
