International Day of Persons with Disabilities: British Ambassador Martyn Roper distributes aid to disabled

Charity Association “Al Takoua” (piety), celebrated in the Municipality of Meftah (western Algiers), on Wednesday evening, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

British Ambassador Martyn Roper, workers at the British Embassy, the mayor of Meftah, representatives of Blida Governor and media attended the ceremony which included activities by the disabled and some humorists who tried to create an atmosphere that could help the disabled forget their daily problems in their International Day.

British Ambassador, who is known for supervising charity activities, and who has previously helped the Association by providing a private bus of 12 seats to transport the disabled, also supervised the ceremony.

“Parsons with disabilities are important citizens in the society, and are able to be better than healthy citizens, and the best example of this is their excellent performance in the Semi-Olympic Games in London”, Martyn Roper said.

British Ambassador distributed seating for disabled kids, crutches for disabled and blind people, and back belts, which brought delight and joy in the hearts of 41 poor disabled, and contribute to their reintegration into society.

Head of “Al Takoua” Association announced, during the ceremony, on signing an agreement with the Director of the Vocational Training Centers of Blida , to train 25 disabled in the field of traditional crafts, so that they can achieve an independent source of income.
