International network of smuggling drugs and psychotropic substances from Tunisia dismantled
The security services of Annaba, east of Algeria, conducted Friday intensive investigations into the activities of an international gang involved in smuggling drugs and vaccines from abroad and precisely from Tunisia.

Three elements of the gang have been arrested till now, including a Tunisian residing in Annaba, east of Algeria, and running his business as cover for his smuggling operations between Algeria and Tunisia accompanied by his wife and a third resident of the locality.

Informed sources told Echorouk that the main suspect in this case was arrested Friday by the security services on board of his car in the road adjacent to the stadium of May 19, 1956, possessing a large quantity of medicines.

Our sources confirmed that the operation is very dangerous and unique of its kind because it included insulin and antibiotics for several chronic diseases, as well as hallucinogenic tablets that are distributed widely in the pharmacies of Annaba, east of Algiers, and other eastern localities.

The same sources said that the gang distributed large quantities in the national market, using the diploma of his wife in pharmacy and succeeded, according to preliminary investigations, in smuggling large quantities of psychotropic substances to Algeria.
