Two Israeli laboratories out of 145 pharmaceutical operators presented offers to provide Algeria’s Central Pharmacy of Hospitals with medicines, Echorouk has learnt.

Earlier, one of the laboratories was banned in Algeria as investigations showed that its medicines were brought from its subsidy in Haifa. The second laboratory is an Israeli company subsidy.

A number of operators considered the presence of San Pharma laboratory in the Algerian market provoking. Health officials said medicines marketed by San Pharma were manufactured by Taro Pharmaceutical Industries in Haifa.

In 2008, the laboratory’s sales in cancer medicines market reached $50 million.
