Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot summed up on Thursday a special file about the Algerian writer Boualem Sensal, who also has French citizenship, despite that France considers him an Algerian, against the background of the step taken by the Israeli Foreign Minister Lieberman to France, to help the Algerian writer after being hit by the boycot of the Algerians, especially the Algerian community in France, including Arab writers, after he dared to visit Jerusalem two months ago, and participated in a literary festival sponsored by the Jewish state, where he presented lectures and met with Israelis and spoke on behalf of the Algerians, and even more so after when he returned to France, he wrote article which praised the Israelis, as if he returned from the holy Mecca ‭. ‬

What is strange is that Israel Foreign Minister, who was supposed to be busy with Israel affairs, moved specifically to Brussels at the headquarters of the European Union to talk with his French counterpart and asked him to support the Algerian writer, pleading him to lift the Arab siege on him, and recognize him as a French citizen, although the French press, including the daily ‭”Libération”, which interviewed him recently ‭called him the “Algerian writer” and never miss that he is also French‭. ‬

Previously, the writer Boualem Sensal considered the visit of Farhat Mehani to the Israeli Knesset last month as a couragous step, saying that his initiative with the Israeli writer David Grisman, for the establishment of an international festival for peace between Arabs and Israelis is moving towards embodiment, and promised that he will attract a lot of Arab writers and Algerians who write in both Arabic and French languages to it, as he submitted a projetc about the festival, and received financial support from the Jewish state and from France, and moral support from the European Union, asserting that he will organize the festival in many European countries.

Boualem Sansal had received an important sum of money from a Swiss Zionist of 15.000 Euros, after the Arab countries negelected him at the award of Arab ambassadors, that he was supposed to receive last June.

Boualem Sansal, who will be 63 next autumn. He was born in Thenia in Tissemsilt (west of Algeria). He studied economics and was able at the beginning of the black decade to achieve a great position in the Ministry of Industry, and he was the author of several books, as some even nominated him the Industry Minister, but he decided to write novels, and when his two works failed in 2003 and 2005, entitled ‭”tell me about ‭Paradise”, ‬and “Harraga” (illegal immigrants), he decided to do the contrary to the other Arab writers in order to reach fame, until he was named the Algerian Selman Rachdi.
