Israeli walkie-talkies seized in Algeria airport

Customs at the Airport of Houari Boumediene in Algiers seized 20 weapons, 10 kg of ammunition and 200 Motorola walkie-talkies made in Israel coming from China across Doha’ airport without license from the national defense ministry, officers told Echorouk.

The weapons were seized with Algerians in three trips from Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris and one from Italy. 

According to the same sources, the walkie-talkies can not be imported without license from the national defense ministry as they are used in spying.

Investigations show that they were made in Israel but their labels were changed to “Made in China.”
