Italy cancels warship delivery to Algeria

Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri cancelled the delivery of a new warship to Algeria as an officer working in its workshop in Riva Trigoso was killed in a work accident.

The delivery was supposed to be conducted on Monday morning in an official ceremony.

According to Fincantieri, the officer died during the transportation operation of the ship in the workshop. It said it cancelled the delivery to show respect to the officer and stand by the workers and his family’s side.
