Joint commission to discuss football in Algeria

A joint commission of president of Algerian Footbal Federation (FAF) Hamid Hedadj, his deputy Mohamed Khlaifiya, Secretary General Mourad Bouchemla and the Secretary General of Algerian Sport Ministry Rezig will discuss Monday recommendations on Algerian football, according to a reliable source.

The commission is expected to hold a meeting at the FAF’s headquarters to deal with the recommendations a debate brainstorming came up with on May 17 and 18th at the High Institute of Sport Technology in Algiers.

The meeting is very important because it will study competition system, arbitrage and clubs management. It is expected to last for a long time due to serious football-related events following recent riots in many areas in Algeria.

Recommendations to be presented to the federal bureau

According to a member of the federal bureau, the meeting will come up with a large number of data to constitute a list of proposals. They are due to be presented on June 5th to the federal bureau’s members in an official meeting.

Decisions will be debated and made during an extraordinary assembly due to be held in July, said a statement posted on the FAF’s website Thursday.

Fourth group to be added between leagues

Reliable sources said modifications will be done on the championship between leagues starting from the next season. A fourth group of high lands clubs will be added to reduce expenses and distance between teams.

East and west-south teams will be put in groups regionally close to them.

Actually, a fourth group between leagues is an old demand claimed by the president of Ouarguela’s Regional League (south of Algiers) since many years. Each time, it has been rejected for many reasons.
