Joint Ministerial Council to complete the legal system for price adjustment

ALGIERS- A second joint ministerial council is to be held Thursday to complete the legal system for price adjustment and determination of profit margins for basic food items.

According to Trade Minister Mustapha Benbada , the meeting will “examine the decrees implementing the laws on competition and commercial practices, in relation to determination of profit margins for mass consumption products and other items to be governed by these measures.”

The council will also “determine the mechanisms to be activated and the ministries involved.”

The minister stressed the authorities’ determination to regulate the market, saying that “such a move requires time.”
