JS Kabylie Secretary General in Cairo to nonsuit Egypt's Al Ahly before CAF disciplinary commission

The Secretary General of the Algerian first – division squad of JS Kabylie, Said Boukhari and the club's lawyer today left Algiers for Cairo with the aim of defending JS Kabylie's stance in the light of a formal complaint brought by Egypt's Al Ahly club before the relevant CAF commission over the stoning in Tizi Ouzou of the Al Ahly bus by a lone and misguided youngster ahead of the recent African champions' league group stage fixture between home-team JS Kabylie and Al Ahly.

  • It should be noted that this isolated act which caused no injuries to the members of the Al Ahly delegation on board the stoned bus was immediately condemned in the strongest terms by the top manager of the JS Kabylie club Mohand Cherif Hannachi whose statement blasting this isolated incident was relayed by most Egyptian news outlets.

  •
  • Observers note in this respect that the Al Ahly side have not as yet swallowed their setbacks versus JS Kabylie which has succeeded in ruling the roost after six remarkable group stage fixtures in the African champions’ league competition with on prime focus a highly meritorious qualification for the semi-finals.

  •
  • They argued to this effect that for all fair-minded and objective sports lovers, the affair surrounding this isolated stoning incident mounted woefully by spiteful Al Ahly managers is in fact a “storm in a tea-cup” and nothing else.

  •
  • The JS Kabylie club has solid and irrefutable arguments to bring home in this affair with notably reports compiled by the Togolese referee and his assistants excoriating several players of the Egyptian team for blameworthy misbehavior on the pitch including a blatant physical assault by a Egyptian player against the referee’s assistant a few minutes before the end of the JS Kabylie – Al Ahly hot match in Tizi Ouzou stadium.

  •
  • The JS Kabylie side are however confident of securing a nonsuit in this makeshift affair versus Al Ahly with a definitive ruling to be issued shortly by the relevant CAF commission.
