Judicial Police School to upgrade security investigations of National Gendarmerie
Algerian gendarmes.
Algerian Ministry of National Defence created a special school for judicial belonging to the National Gendarmerie. It will be based in Algiers near the National Institute of Criminal Evidences.

According to the last number of the Official Journal, a judicial police school was introduced after a presidential decree had stipulated that the school must be headed by the Minister of National Defence or his representatives.

The school’s council consists of two representatives from the gendarmerie and one representative each from the ministries of interior, justice, finance, and higher education in addition to a representative of military security belonging to the ministry of national defence and the general director of the national institute of criminal evidence.

The school includes special training for the national gendarmerie non-commissioned officers or other structures belonging to the ministry of national defence.

Asked on the goal of establishing this school, Colonel Abderrahmane Ayoub, president of communication cell at the National Gendarmerie told Echorouk there is a current central post for the judicial police at the National Gendarmerie command subdivided into sections on the level of provinces.

He considered the creation of a special school for judicial police will upgrade it because it would become more specialized and effective in combating crime in all its special networks of organized crime.

He also pointed out that non-commissioned officers and Gendarmerie officers were subject to judicial police study materials at the schools belonging to the Gendarmerie.

Such schools would help increasing the number of those who are affiliated in pressure schools and achieve effectiveness in training. Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika’s directives and the government’s program would ensure security coverage in 2010 by recruiting 200 thousands security officers.

Media official in the Gendarmerie added that this school is near from the National Institute of Criminology and Criminal Evidences will allow achievement of effective results in investigations on the backdrop that judicial police officers will be trained in the fields of crime scenes. They would also learn how to lift fingerprints before transferring them to the institute for analysis and inspection in order to solve the crime using scientific evidences.
