Justice Minister « Beliz » confirmed prisons and detention centres remain open for human rights organizations
Justice minister “Tayeb Beliz†directed a speech to the human rights organizations and advocates, after a series of reports, “those who claim human rights are welcome, prisons and detention centres doors are open at the level of police and gendarmerie headquartersâ€, thus denying all reports that promote information about bad conditions existing in Algerian prisons and detention centres, and that Judges are visiting these centres in regular and sudden way, in addition to 8000 visit of that kind, where 2887 detention room have been checked.

“Beliz” the only black point in the penal institutions, which is the crowding crisis, and in this framework the presidents spokesman ordered an emergency program to build 13 new penal institution with 1000 to 2000 prisoner, in highlands and southern areas, and this will be applies in 2009, aiming at providing about 19000 beds to lift the siege on other penal institutions.
