Algeria’s justice minister Tayeb Louh Monday said the trial of national police chief’s killer was public as justice does not hide anything from people.

Speaking about the Sunday terrorist attack in the province of Constantine, the minister said investigations are still underway.

“The terrorist who blew himself up carried a bomb belt. He has not been identified yet,” he told a radio channel.

“Algeria will fight anyone who plans to hit its stability and security. The President’s efforts are continuing to counter terrorism,” he added.

“Terrorism should be fought and this happened indeed,” he also said.

Speaking about the next legislative elections, the minister warned against using money to gain votes.

“Anyone who plans to use money to gain votes in an illegal way will be prosecuted,” he said.

Asked about justice role in elections, Louh said the State set legal guarantees to protect the electoral process transparency.

According to the minister, more than 5,000 corruption cases were reported between 2013 and 2016.
