Karim Matmour, striker of the German club Munchgladbach, said the players of the Algerian squad are determined to win in Zambia qualifier for the African and World qualifications 2010.

• Matmour said in an interview with the FIFA’s official that the qualifications to the World Cup 2010 obliged the greens to win; “We need to get the three points of the match, as we aim to qualify for the World Cup and we will do our best to reach that goal”.
• “We still have two matches within our territories, and if we will win we can say we have done the most difficult. I think the Egyptians will not win in both matches. Actually, I believe we should not be concerned about the results of other teams, and we must start in our work by winning the next two matches”.
• “I desire to participate with the greens in the next World Cup. Everyone in Algeria dream of the qualification and if I wanted to be in the squad I must show my talent with the current team, because the opportunity is not available to all the players to participate in such occasions”.
• “The next World Cup will allow Algeria to return to the international arena. We recognize that all the Algerians are following our qualifications. It is a way of saying that Algeria is retuning not only in terms of football, but also compared to the serious problems the country has experienced in the past. We have a great desire to show that Algeria is ready to return to the fore and participate in the World Cup, as it is the best way to improve the image of Algeria”.
• “I was born in France, but my heart was always an Algerian. I always felt I’m an Algerian 100%. It is a great honor for me to hold Algeria’s shirt, and I still like the national anthem every time I hear it I cried. Logging on the stadium ground under the impact of the national anthem is great and amazing, it is a wonderful feeling”.
