kidnapping of Austrian tourists brings dissentions to surface
The kidnapping of the Austrian tourists by a terrorist group sparked a wave of controversy among the so called North African branch of Al Qaeda dubbing it groundless.
Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb stated that the main motives behind this abduction was to collect money and assure a media uproar, since the hostage-takers demanded a ransom to release the tourists advancing a very weak argument to justify their act saying that the kidnapping comes as backlash against the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
The kidnapping of the Austrian tourists has, once again, fueled the fire already ablaze against Droudkel’s leadership viewed as unsound and strategically shortsighted.
Most of the voices rose against the former (GSPC) group saying that” neither reason nor religion can justify the kidnapping of the tourists”.
Others were more virulent in their criticism declaring that Droudkel’s organization “was following a method completely irrelevant to Islam” especially that they were (Droudkel followers) using the Palestinian issue to justify their acts. Some “militants” went on saying” they are hiding behind Gaza, but our combat is much more honorable to be associated with criminal acts and a criminal organization that killed innocent civilians” referring to the civilians killed in the latest suicide attacks.
