Large campaign to criminalize colonization, place FLN in museum in the next constitution

An extensive campaign across the Wilayas will start on the begining of next week, to collect signatures of supporters to the include an article of criminalizing the French colonialism, and other articles which put the Liberation Front out of partisanship, and make it a common heritage of all Algerians within the new constitution, as this campaign will be led by “the Algerian body for defending the sovereignty and memory”, national and historical figures as well.

a group of experts who are active in the National Organization for Defending memory, as confirmed by the official spokesman, Lakhdar ben Said, who told Echorouk, the drafting of the list of proposals include substantial proposals that the body wants to include in the new constitution, which noticed the appointment of the President of the Republic, recently of a national committee to draft its articles,based on proposals of political class and developments in the arena, as well as regional changes, as the first amendment provides for the inclusion of a new article on the criminalizing of the French colonialism, and this after an initiative by the Deputy for the Liberation Front Mousa Abdi, to create a bill for criminalizing colonialism and obliging France to compensate Algerian victims, an initiative that stalled at the level of parliament for reasons that Office of the Council said it was rejected by the government, under the pretext of the lack of provisions in the Penal Code to criminalize colonization, as well as the obligations of the Algerian State towards Evian agreements.

The list, which will be prepared by the National body for the Defense of memory and sovereignty, will be presented before the so-called G14 political parties, which will meet on April 17, for approval and adoption, to be displayed on the national and historical figures, political parties, professional and civil organizations for signature, as it will also be presented for the general public at the level of 48 wilaya, in the context of a broad campaign to persuade the National Commission to amend the constitution, to adopt proposals that have noticed a widespread support, and that in the event of the success of this initiative, which will be launched in the applied field next week, coinciding with the start of work of the National Committee to amend the constitution.
