The prisoners Saturday evening landed at Algiers International Airport around 8 p.m , some served half of their terms while others finished their term four months ago, according to the families’ spokesman Gacemi Abdelkader.

Scenes of joy were not complete as some were celebrating the return of their beloved while signs of sorrow and sadness were visible on others’ faces to the absence of their relatives on the eve of the “ Eid Al Fitr”.

12 families spent the last two days of the holly month of Ramadan in a center at the border lines waiting for the release of their relatives, but were surprised by a phone call made by Gacemi Abdelkader informing them that there is no need to wait because only 28 prisoners were concerned by the procedure out of the 52.

For his part the families’ spokesman declared that the Libyan U-turn was surprising and unpredictable because he was striving to release the 52 prisoners, indicating that the international agreement concerning the prisoners’ swap must be implies on the totality not few.
