Life imprisonment for « Salafist Group » leaders in Tizi Ouzou

A criminal court in Tizi Ouzou (100 km east of Algiers) Thursday condemned three leaders of the “Salafist group” to life imprisonment in absentia. They are: “K.Moussa”, “G.Houcine” and “W.Mouloud”.

• The suspects were behind many attacks carried out by the group such as their involvement in the assassination of nine judicial policemenand their participation in the attack on Beni Issa municipality guards building as well as their attack on many poste centres and banks in Tizi Ouzou, Ayet Oumalou, Mkalaa where they took big sums of money.

• Their last appearance was in the village of Beni Zamanzar, where they set up a false checkpoint and managed to strip a citizen of his Renault Traffic car using Kalashnikov arms. Victims identified them through images.
