Liverpool In Talks To Sign Ace Algerian Midfielder Ryad Boudebouz

Talented Sochaux midfielder Ryad Boudebouz has revealed that the English Premier League squad of Liverpool FC are one of the clubs chasing his signature.

  • The highly-rated Ligue 1 Algerian winger has told reporters he has attracted interest from the Merseysiders as well as a host of French clubs understood to be Lyon, Lille and Marseille.

  • The 22-year-old was part of Algeria’s 3-0 win over Niger in Saturday’s in Blida stadium and after the game Boudebouz revealed that his agent has been in discussions with clubs across Europe over a potential summer switch.

  • “Certainly, my agent is in talks with some clubs, particularly in France, but there is still nothing concrete,” he said.

  • “There is also Liverpool, who have initiated discussions with my agent, but at the risk of repeating myself, everything is in the discussion stage, no more.”

  • It appears that highly rated French born Algerian international Ryad Boudebouz is looking increasingly likely to leave Sochaux having arguably outgrown the mid-table Ligue 1 side he has been a regular at over the past four seasons.
  • The 22 year old midfielder enjoyed another consistent campaign but would have been unhappy with his club’s flirtation with the drop zone, the Stade Auguste Bonal side finished just four points from the relegation zone.

  • The creative Algerian midfielder could offer a more effective link between midfield and attack than that provided by last summer’s signings Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson, both of whom struggled to make an impact last term.

  • A lot could of course depend on whether any incoming Liverpool boss wishes to pursue the capture of the talented flair player but a move for the Sochaux man would probably not break the bank and may be more in keeping with a likely reduced investment coming from Liverpool’s owners following the £120m Kenny Dalglish invested in an Anfield squad that has seemingly moved backwards.

  • Riyad Boudebouz has notched up 135 appearances for Sochaux, netting 23 goals in the process. The midfielder appeared for Algeria at the 2010 World Cup where he came up against England in what was a dire 0-0 draw.
