Local elections face lack of enthusiasm from citizens
The candidates willing to run for the next local elections scheduled for November 29, will have to submit their applications today at earliest in order to meet the deadline, amid a total indifference either from the local authorities or the opposition that still bear the stigma of the crushing defeat during the last legislatives.

-
Despite the importance of the event for the citizens’ everyday life, the campaign went almost unnoticed and completely ignored by the political circles and media as opposed to the last legislative elections.
-
-
The internal fights that undermined the very stability of the major political parties including the National Liberation Front (FLN), National Democratic Rally ( RND), Movement for Society of Peace and the Social Front Forces ( FFS) , have largely contributed to this state of lethargy.
-
-
But the contested results of the latest legislative elections and their political fallout have impacted on the both the politicians and the citizens alike.
-
-
Most of the political parties have refused to appoint their representatives in the National Committee for the Supervision of the Elections considering that this institution didn’t fulfil its task appropriately during the legislatives.

-
Talking on behalf of the so called “ Green Alliance” , the leader of the Movement for Society of Peace Abu Djerra Soltani has declared not being tempted for a strong participation in the upcoming elections considering that the results are fixed by the logic of the quotas not by the voters.

-
This view is unfortunately shared by most of the political leaders except those that paid allegiance to regime like the National Liberation Front and the National Democratic Rally, accused by the leader of national Front party Moussa Touati of spoiling the votes of the security forces.
