Madjid Bougherra spoke to Echorouk during the training camp in Crans Montana, Swizerland
Algeria’s team defender Madjid Bougherra spoke about the effects of his injury, asserting that he will be absent from the match against Ireland after he refused the adventure.
- He also spoke about the future of Algeria’s team in the World Cup and his future with Rangers.
- Your participation in the training camp was weak and you did not participate in the application game.
- In fact, I am in a good health situation. I recovered from injury and the technical crew and I refused adventure. Time is still ahead of us. We will see after the match against Ireland.
- Do you mean you will play against Ireland?
- Explicitly, I am excited to play in this match, but I refuse to adventure. Thanks, Allah I am in good conditions, and I will play in the most important moments.
- The match against Ireland will be an adventure as long as this team depends a lot on physical confrontation. Do you fear other injuries?
- No, I think the Irish team plays a clean football much like Celtic club. Therefore, the match will be strong, but I do not expect roughness.
- It is the same injury of the French player Gallas at the level of leg muscles, but he participated with France.
- I suffer at the level of the calf. I have enough time to recover that is why I refused to adventure through participating in the match against Ireland, but I will be ready in Germany because I am afraid from what happened to the French Gallas who did not recover well and participated with his team, thing that worsen his injury.
- When will you merge with the team and participate in the trainings?
- I do not know. It is up to the technical crew to decide about it. All I know I am recovering every day and I feel better, but every one refuses adventure, the medical crew and me.
- Some basic players still suffer from injury such as Ghezzal and Antar Yahia. What can you say?
- I think those are not dangerous injuries. Those are just injuries that occur from time to time because of fatigue or hardships of the end of a season. However, I am sure that everyone will be present for the World Cup.
- Can you describe the nature of their injuries?
- I think Ghezzal did a false movement that caused an injury at the ankle, and Antar suffered the old injury at his thigh. I hope it is not dangerous.
- Yebda, Megheni, Boudebbouz and other players are also injured. What is the reason of these successive injuries?
- I already said that those are not dangerous injuries because of many reasons. Do not forget that we are at the end of a season and it is natural. We hope everyone will be ready in Germany, where the real meeting.
- Good news is the return of Megheni to the trainings.
- We are happy for that. He seemed in good health. Megheni is patient. I hope he will be ready for the World Cup.
- Did you talk to him about his injury and the possibility to participate in the World Cup?
- We talk every day. I asked him about the injury and advised him to be patient. Normally he needs help and solidarity from us, but I felt a great will and desire to take up the challenge. We wish he would recover in order to play with us in the WC.
- How can you describe the level of Algerian players, days before the end of Switzerland training camp?
- In fact, I did not know some players. I just red about them in newspapers and watch them on TV, but I realized that they are the future of the Algerian team after the World Cup.
- Many Algerian fans move to Switzerland in order to support you. What do you feel?
- It is an amazing support by Algerian fans. I am not surprised because we know Algerians. There presence in Switzerland means a lot to us that is why we have to honour them during the World Cup.
- Let us talk about your future in Rangers. How are Negotiations with clubs wishing to sign you?
- Frankly, I do not think about it. I am focusing on the World Cup and injury.
- But negotiations about your move are still ongoing.
- What I can say is that if I would move it would be to a large club. Moreover, if I would stay I would automatically participate in the European Champion League and it is good for me.
- Are you disturbed because of all that?
- Madjid Bougherra: I swear I do not think at all about the subject of moving and focused a lot on the national team and World Cup. I wish I will realize positive results then doors will open to me.
