Magnetic cards for future foreign trade transactions

The finance ministry Okayed the use of magnetic cards in the payment of foreign transaction as from the next October. The first stage of the operation will concern foreign trade operators.

• The ministry informs most of the operators that the administrative and customs procedures will come into effect starting from the beginning of October on the basis of a serial number representing the identity of the operator.
• In this respect, the operators have to settle their administrative situation to get their card.
• From that date on, the ministry added, no other means than the use of these cards is allowed in the future transactions in order to put an end to the traditional practices in one hand and track foreign operators on the other hand.
