Maj. Gen Abdelghani Hamel: “I follow the work of anti-riot forces in Algiersâ€
Batna (east of Algeria)- There is a need to improve security coverage across the territory of Batna, as it does not exceed currently 60%, General-Director of the National Security, Major General Abdelghani Hamel said here on Sunday.
“The municipality guards’ file ended with handling all the demands including benefits for those who have spent 15 years of retirement, while powers of isolation and demilitarization remain the task of the authorities in charge. The case of the municipality guards due to the lack of communication which led to exaggeration. Files of those who were separated from the service and demand reintegration will be considered case by case”, Maj. Gen Hamel added.
“The Institution of National Security has a mission, in the context of a comprehensive national strategy, and has no strategy of its own; it works within a general strategy of the Algerian state. I follow every little thing while covering Algiers protests, and I am keen to respect international laws in facing protesters and angry crowds like using teargas, physical force and rubber bullets, however, our security services did not use these methods to disperse protesters”, he asserted.
“I am keen to keep in touch with media in order to address trouble in some cities, especially in Batna”, he told the media.
Major General Hamel supervises the distribution of 50 social covalent housing before inspecting the project of 100 residential units of a social covalent nature for the sector’s staff.
