Management of company benefit schemes: The Autonomous Trade Unions want to be counted in
The Autonomous Trade Unions of the Public Service will stage a General Assembly on October 15th in a bid to work out a program of protest actions to press for the rescinding by the National Education Ministry of Ministerial order n° 94 – 158 giving the UGTA Union the exclusive monopoly over the management of company benefit schemes without involving at all the Autonomous Unions.

The Autonomous Unions of the education sector argue that the financial package deriving from the benefit schemes should be devoted to the construction of a big hospital for the workers of the education sector whose number exceeds 600 thousand as well as for their families and the retired like the military hospital of Ain Naâdja in Algiers.

In this respect, an executive in charge of the communication department at the National Union of the personnel of education and training Messaoud Amraoui told Echorouk that the Autonomous Trade Unions had decided this year to turn the spotlight on 2 burning files including the employees’ allowance scheme and the management of the fund of the benefit plans.

This, he said, could be achieved by resorting to the election at the grassroots level of provincial committees in order to manage and supervise this 50 Billion dinar-worth fund in the utmost transparency.
