Massacres on Algerian roads

About 115 people were killed and 1445 others were injured in 712 traffic accidents this week, a significant rise in the number of fatal accidents and victims, including dead and wounded compared to the same period of last week, where the highest number of deaths was registered in Maskara ( west of Algeria) “massacre”. 

• On a related subject, the interests of civil protection presented a “black” report on the outcome of people who drowned during the period from the 1st to 8th of August, as the number of sea victims reached 160 mostly young people, who died during swimming in dams, ponds and prohibited beaches, bringing the number of roads and sea victims to 275 dead people.

• According to a weekly report, issued by the liaison cell led by the national gendarmerie, 712 traffic accidents happened in Setif province (East of Algeria) with 44, Algiers 36 and Oran (west of Algeria) with 33 accidents, and on a related subject, the civil protection interests reported that 160 holidaymakers drowned during the period between 1st to 8th of last August, including 71 people died during swimming, and 89 died in dams, ponds, and valleys.
