Mbolhi to Echorouk: “Playing in English championship is enticing … but decision rests with my Bulgarian club's Manager”
Algeria Goalkeeper Ouahab Mbolhi

In a exclusive interview with “Echorouk”, the new talented goalkeeper of the Algerian national football squad, Ouahab Mbolhi, has said that playing in the English first-league championship is a much attractive prospect but the decision on the matter devolves solely upon the general manager of his current Bulgarian club of Slavia Sofia.

  • Mbolhi told “Echorouk” that he was currently in France together some of his family members and friends as part of a vacation period to allow him to rest for a while and let off steam in the wake of his commendable participation in the World cup tournament in South Africa with the Algeria line-up as well as after a grueling football season with his Bulgarian squad.
  •
  • Mbolhi who was nominated by the FIFA as the best goalkeeper of the first round of the 2010 World cup contest said that this laudable nomination had prompted several European clubs to make offers to the top managerial staff of his Slavia Sofia outfit in a bid to have him next season within their line-ups.
  •
  • Mbolhi indicated that these enticing offers, notably from some top English clubs were being closely examined by the general manager of his Bulgarian club in the hope of a final and mutually – acceptable deal.
  •
  • Mbolhi however asserted that he could not make a decision on his own as he is still bound by a 3 – year contract with the Slavia Sofia squad.
  •
  • Notwithstanding, this talented Algeria team goalkeeper who displayed all his prowess and resilience during the first round of the World cup competition notably during the hot matches versus the potent national squads of England and the USA, expressed the wish to secure a transfer to a renowned first –division club in Europe in the hope of taking part in next year’s European football championship competition with a prime focus on the Champions’ League, as he put it.
