Milk price rise: what for the poor?
The Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal’s instruction to stop using plastic bags shocked people who have limited income as this may raise milk price to 100 DZ per liter, according to specialists.
Sellal’s decision came a few days after official warnings had been issued of possible fall in purchasing power in Algeria due to the reduction of the national currency.
The Prime Minister said made that decision for health reasons although there is no serious study in the world about plastic danger on food including milk.
Nutritionists say milk which is stored in cardboard boxes for a long time has no nutritional value at all while milk in plastic bags keeps its all nutritional ingredients recommended for the body.
