Minister of Housing: The one million houses program to stop next September
Algerian Minister of Housing, Noureddine Moussa

Algerian Minister of Housing and Urbanism, Noureddine Moussa, said during Echorouk forum; “Citizens can own social houses through respecting a three years residential renting contract. Government adopted such measures in order to prevent them from selling or renting these houses for other persons. Ministry of Housing will begin application of the five decisions which are directed for citizens in order to own houses after reviewing and modifying them, taking into account the situation of every Algerian class.

  • “The five decisions by the Ministry of Housing since 2000 include selling or renting contracts for social, rural or modern housing. Reviewing these decisions will allow us find solutions for some housing problems, particularly in “housing trade”.
  • CNAP Bank housing demands reach 183.000 in Algiers

  • “The Ministry of Houses recorded 183.000 demands to get ADL houses. They have been transferred to CNAP Bank only in Algiers. It is impossible to meet all such requests because there not enough real estates in Algiers, which can only receive 25.000 housing units”, Noureddine Moussa said.
  •  275.000 houses to be delivered in 2009

  • “275.000 houses out of 525 will be delivered in 2009. It is the largest housing operation since the launching of the housing program by the Algerian government. Last year we delivered 220.000 houses, so the one million houses program will stop next September. 827.000 houses were built”.
  •  Government to establish a National Agency of Housing

  • “Government will establish a National Agency of Housing, in order to organize urbanism inside big towns. We have to put two controlling offices, in order to control work of the architectural bureaus. The Ministry of Housing established the General Inspectorate of Urbanism, including seven regional inspectorates, in order to control the policy of construction in Algeria”.
