Minister’s son swindles thousands of Algerians promising them Schengen visas

Thousands of Algerians who were denied Schengen visas had to pay additional fees for an intermediate agency that allegedly forwards the applicants‘dossiers to the French embassy to make an appeal, at the moment when the French authorities have introduced this new procedure just recently sparking the applicants’ indignation.

  • Dozens of victims have lodged a complaint against the Agency’s manager for fraud and breach of trust in the wake of the decision made by Schengen zone countries to give the possibility for people who were refused the visa to appeal.

  • The applicants were forced to forward a similar dossier in addition to the payment of the same fees estimated at 8000 Algerian Dinars.

  • The plaintiffs have forwarded their lawyer receipts proving the value of the fees they have paid for the wrongdoer in exchange of the procedure that goes back to the period prior to the decision issued by the European parliament.

  • Some of them have resorted to make appeals several times and had to pay accordingly. They are those who paid four times for imaginary appeals.

  • Estimates reveal that 80 thousand Algerian are denied visas annually and a large majority resort to make appeals.
