Ministerial Decree to endorse equivalence between B.A degree and LMD degree

A Ministerial decree providing for the recognized equivalent rating of the Bachelor’s degree stemming from the old system and the current LMD system (B.A – Master’s – PHD) in Algerian Universities will be promulgated next week at the latest, Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal announced Wednesday on the sidelines of his working visit of inspection to the western province of Aïn Temouchent.

Mr Sellal, eager to address the pending concerns of numerous students, emphasized in this respect that this ministerial decree would allow the diploma – holders from the LMD system to integrate more smoothly into the labour world.

This salutary decree was worked out with the active collaboration of the Public Service, according to the Prime Minister.

He also affirmed that the Algerian state had invested a lot in the University, stressing that we shouldn’t miss the opportunity to keep abreast with the latest changes brought about by the new technologies.

Mr Abdelmalek Sellal further recalled the sustained efforts deployed by the state with the aim of encouraging the highly – skilled Algerian nationals living abroad to put above all their acquired know- how and experiences at the service of their motherland, Algeria.
