Mizrana forest, Salafist Group’s transit and training centre in Algeria

Suspect “K.Mohamed” revealed that the forest of Mizrana in Boumerdes province (50 km east of Algiers) is a transit and training centre for terrorists.

• According to him, new recruited members are gathered until “El Ansar battalion” under “Sofian Fassila” leadership decides their transfer to other places where terrorist leadership’ bases are situated.
• He also said he met “Abdelkahar Ben Hajd”, the son of the man No 2 at banned-Islamic Salvation party. He had been convicted with three years prison.
• The 39-year-old suspect is residing in Kouba (Algiers) has already been convicted with five years in prison on charges of financing terrorists groups in 2000. Then, he benefited from the National Reconciliation in March 2006 but he tried again to join terrorist groups active in Boumerdes and Tizi Ouzou mountains.
• A person who asked him to recruit prisoners who were with him in prison was one of those he had already recruited, according to Abdelkahar Benhadj transfers decision report. On the other hand, K.Mouhamed denied recruiting this latter confirming that he met him in Boughni region with other terrorist groups in Mizrana forest.
