Mobilis GM: “We did not pay Maradona for visiting Algeria”

Current customers’ SIM Card can embrace five “3G” members, that can be used to connect to high flow of Internet or to make and receive phone calls, pledging to provide “3G” services with international standards that are approaching the fourth-generation technology, General Manager of the historical mobile phone operator “Mobilis”, Saad Dama, said on Wednesday morning, while being hosted by Liberté French-speaking Newspaper’s Forum.

“The historic operator provided an effective solution to the issue of double numbering, indicating that the current SIM Card for the second generation can accommodate with two to five numbers of the third generation. It contains all the benefits, and can be used to take advantage of the services of the “3G” or normal calls, without any technical problems.”

“Mobilis” developed a new “3G” application that can be downloaded for free on smart phones and digital tablets, which allows easy activation of the third generation, as the application has become valid from Tuesday afternoon”.

“Telecommunications sector in Algeria is very promising, and the size of the mobile market is very large, and there is the size of the three operators, provided that there is fair and honest competition. Mobilis issued a statement and cited the number of the violations, which affected the book of conditions and the decisions of the Regulatory Authority, and warned the board competition of those breaches, unlike the statement that was issued by one of the dealers, who did not mention a violation.”Mobilis” respects all the terms of the book of conditions, and every one who has evidence of any breach should present it to Regulation Authority”.

“Mobilis will soon offer facilities to its subscribers to give them the final solutions for the third generation, including smart phones and digital tablets. There are close surprises to subscribers of Mobilis”.

Saad Dama presented some of the numbers on the historic operator’s outcome, as the increase in the turnover reached 23%, while the investments until last November, reached 27.5 billion ZDZ, the equivalent of $354 million, while the profits before calculating fees reached 25.7 billion ZDZ, while the amount of investment in the deployment of third-generation network in every state will cost between 30 to $40 million, while the opening of the largest call center in Algeria will be opened soon and will employ dozens of Algerians.

“Mobilis” GM spoke about bringing the legendary Argentine Maradona, during a ceremony of the 3G launch, and the controversy that accompanied the process and especially the funds that were received by the Maradona from “Mobilis”, stressing that Mobilis did not give money to Maradona, adding that “Mobilis” partners procured the process.
