Money-laundering: Algerian Police Officers undergo FBI-led training

Representatives of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation –-FBI- in Algiers have taken in charge the training of a number of Algerian Police Officers and Inspectors in the struggle against the creeping scourge of money – laundering and how it could be checked efficiently on the ground.

•  Several inspectors from the Algerian Finance Ministry also attended this intensive training session held at the Higher Police School in upper Algiers.
• The FBI instructors shed light, in their lecturing, on how best to combat all kinds of cross – border smuggling networks and their ramifications which are usually used for the financing of terrorism notably through money – laundering.
• The burning issue of money-laundering is obviously being taken very seriously by the Algerian authorities who are intent on doing away with this heinous plague before it takes alarming proportions.
